Do You Believe in Ancient Aliens?

The idea of ancient aliens is really interesting to me. I do think it is believable. But, beyond that, who knows. No one still alive would know.

It is possible aliens, extra terrestrials, visited our planet while we were a new species. Maybe before we became what is recognized as human beings now. Did they think we had potential?… Read the rest

Have you Heard of the Witch’s Heart?

I found these posted to eBay. I’d never heard about a witch’s heart, in this way. A lot of things were “to ward off evil spirits”. But, I wonder, how was this a witch’s heart in particular. What made it something other than a decorated hear? Like a claddagh (the heart with a hand holding it on each side and a crown on top) there must be a story to this witch’s heart too.… Read the rest

Being a Solitary Witch (or Wiccan)

The solitary Witch, Wiccan or Pagan is alone by choice. There are many reasons for making this choice to be a Witch or Wiccan on your own. There are also lots of ways solitary Witches can share notes, talk and get new ideas from other Witches, when they want to.

Solitary Witches tend to be eclectic, they have their own vision and ideals for the path they follow.… Read the rest

I’d like to know more about our Canadian Mennonites. I haven’t taken the time to read very much. I’ve kept these links here for myself and others who would also like to understand and learn about the Mennonite culture, religion, and history in Canada.

Walpurgisnacht – Witches’ Night in Germany

My family are Irish, Scottish and German. As far as I know, there are a lot of them, a long history of people I’ve never met. I especially like to hear about German and Austrian traditions and history because it seems just a bit more exotic and farther away than the Irish and Scottish part of my family history.… Read the rest

How I Chose to be a Pagan Earth Witch

When I was about 20 I decided to look into religions. I knew the traditional Christian ways were not for me. I didn’t like they way these religions viewed women. I had just read a book where the women were put into isolation after having their period or giving birth, they were “unclean”. This was on top of growing up with the Adam and Eve mythology.… Read the rest

The Endless Knot

Originally written for The Crying Clown Zine (c. 1998)

In whatever stray corner of the world you find yourself in you may have just found a Pagan or Wiccan if they are wearing a five pointed star with a solitary point up inside a circle. Being a solitary (Wiccan) myself I am partial to this view of the pentacle, I’m sure it has absolutely nothing to do with those nasty rumours of Satanism.… Read the rest

Men Can be Witches (Pagan) Too

A male witch is not a warlock or a wizard, he is a Pagan, Wiccan or Witch who happens to be male. So, of course, there are men who are Witches too.

If you are a male Pagan you could be the only one, or one of few, in your coven or group. There may be many men working as solitary Wiccans, Witches or Pagans just because they feel isolated even when they are in a group.… Read the rest

Do you Believe in God and the Apocalypse?

There is talk about the Apocalypse due to signs in Revelations in the Bible, or prophecies by other people in history. I don’t believe in any of these. Not that I don’t think the planet is in trouble. We are putting a lot of stresses on our ecosystems and our resources. We do need to focus on making things better, fixing what we can and saving what we haven’t already ruined.… Read the rest

I Like Geomancy

Geomancy interests me because I especially like rocks, stones, and even pebbles (rocks you can hold in your hand or put in your pocket). Stone is like a hard, cold fact with a very long history, by our human standards.

I haven’t tried it, not to read the future. I just enjoy stones. I keep them around, in my bedroom, outside in the yard and the garden we have a lot of rocks.… Read the rest
