On Facebook, Witches of Ontario, someone posted about their landlord not wanting them to practice Wicca/ Witchcraft in the home. The landlord was concerned about the spirits which might be attracted to the home. Yes, people do have rights and freedom of religion. Many people replied about that, some getting aggressive about it. However, there is truth to the landlord’s concerns.… Read the rest
I had some creepy experiences, feeling I was watched, noticing something out of the corner of my eye, little things like that, when I was a child. I could have lived with that. Most people have those feelings now and then. More often when you watch something spooky on TV or read something creepy.
But, one afternoon, I very strongly felt something sinister.… Read the rest
I found, on Amazon, a book for solitary Witches written by Rowan Morgana, a woman from Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. I have not ordered the book, it seems to be more about spells and recipes than I would like. But, overall it has very good reviews on Amazon.
Have you heard of a book for solitary Pagans, Wiccans, or Witches by someone from Ontario?
You are never going to be the perfect Witch, or anything else really. Stop comparing yourself to others. You, or they, can never be perfect. It is a losing battle which leaves people discouraged, burnt out and stressed.
Be the best Witch (or anything else you want to be or do) you can. I know that’s old and worn out advice.… Read the rest
Many people don’t take this seriously, thinking a religion inspired from a movie is just as fictional as the movie. But, what is a religion, if not something inspired by something else, essentially.
How far is it from Pagan/Wiccan/Witch ideals? There is a lot in common including:
- A belief in the force. The force being a term used for this religion in particular.
I’ve read a little about Church of All Worlds. It seems to get a variety of descriptions and definitions. But, I believe it is a religion based on caring for the planet, the Earth and Gaia/ Gaea. It is interesting to read more about. I also believe caring for our planet, stewardship of of resources, the animals and plants is very important, necessary.… Read the rest
The idea of ancient aliens is really interesting to me. I do think it is believable. But, beyond that, who knows. No one still alive would know.
It is possible aliens, extra terrestrials, visited our planet while we were a new species. Maybe before we became what is recognized as human beings now. Did they think we had potential?… Read the rest
With some planning, creativity and ingenuity, you can make an altar to take with you, carry it in your pocket, backpack, luggage, carry on bag, or purse. The size will depend on the container you can find to hold everything in. From there just keep thinking small.
I would like a special container, a small metal box I think.… Read the rest
Some people don’t even give Pagan, Wicca or Witch/ Witchcraft a capital letter any more. This bothers me.
Pagan is a title, a proper name for something, a title. When using English (the language is also title) we should capitalize the first letter of a word that is a title.
I know English language standards have slipped into non-importance for some people.… Read the rest
Some religions have commandments. You can narrow most of the list down to “don’t hurt other people”. If you don’t hurt other people, chances are you will be ok, more or less. I do my best to stick with the Wiccan Rede, do no harm. But, it is pretty general and people have found a lot of ways to interpret it.… Read the rest
